Stage 1. Coatings
Assignment 1. Design, manufacture of hybrid layers:
- 5 variants of PVD hybrid layers were developed,
- samples with developed types of hybrid PVD layers have been prepared for a series of laboratory tests.
 
Assignment 2. Production of a series of casting moulds with simplified geometry:
- mould was designed for expoused for exposure tests with casting of PVD hybrid layers,
- mould is made.
 
Stage 2. Tools
Assignment 1. Toool design, selection of parameters:
- Tool design has been developed,
- Procurement procedures carried out, contractors selected,
- Standardised samples of hot work tool steel for tool testing are made,
- Tooling was made, CNC machine control progrms for testing were developed.
 
Assignment 2. Selection of additive manufactured hydraulic toolholders:

- The type of toollholders was selected,
- Public procurement proceedings were carried out, contractor was selected.
 
Stage 3 Aluminium
Assignment 1. Composites:
- a mould for levelling tests was designed and manufactured,
- a mould, together with chambers and pistons for composite casting tests was designed and constructed,
- a method for the preparation of composite alloys with ceramic additives has been developed,
- works connected with the preparation of composite mortars and pouring tests are being conducted,
 
Assignment 2. Alloys with micro-additives:
- a base alloy has been specified (EN 43400),
- 2 (out of 3 target alloys) with different concentration of metallic additives have been developed,
- laboratory tests are conducted on the developed alloys.
 
Assignment 3.Sand cores for pressure foundury:
- 150x150 mm housing designed,
- moulds for making of 150x150 mm housing castings were designed,
- sand core was designed,
- core boxes for sand cores were designed,
- compositions of 6 different sand cores were developed.
